I've just downed my third frosty mug of Romulan ale, that stuff hits you pretty hard, but I'm getting used to it. I've just completed another training program, getting a little tired of those stupid Starfleet training. They're not bad, but I don't like all the rules that Starfleet has. I'm a Starfleet Officer, but that doesn't mean that I have to agree with everything they say and do. Ah well. I'm just running a few ship diagnostics to keep myself busy and to stave off cabin feaver for a few more hours. I may actually take up one of the Ensign on that offer of hers. There's a Trill that comes on the bridge quite often and she and I have exchanged a few glances every now and then, but I didn't think any more of it other then just harmless flirting. Then she came up to me in the Mess Hall, and sat with me. We had a really nice conversation. We mostly talked about what we did on the ship, people we knew at the Academy. What teachers we liked, what classes we liked and didn't like. Just the usual small talk. We started to make a bit of a habit of eating together when the oportunity arose. Just the other day though, she invited me to an intimate dinner, well she didn't call it an intimate dinner, she just asked if I'd like to come to her quarters and she'd make some dishes from her homeworld. I've never really been on a date before. Well, I've been out with girls.... but that was mostly just a group thing. A whole bunch of us, going to the holodeck and practice our shooting, but this is different. I'm a little nervous about it. I said I'll check when my schedule is clear, and it's clear for today and the rest of the night, so I think I'll give her a call. Computer, end recording.

I'm still not asleep yet. I don't know why but I just thought I might as well do something while I'm awake instead of being just bored. So I'm going to tell you all about my history. Well, all that I can remember at least. If you can't tell from my visual appearance, I am a half Vulcan, half Bajoran. The funny thing is I don't really take after either sides beliefs, except I've had the basic Vulcan emotions training. Well, I might as well start from the begining, that's always a good place to start.
I'm not sure wich parent was Vulcan and wich was Bajoran, and neither does anyone that I've talked to. I was born on some backwater planet, abandoned at an orphanage and left at the mercies of many a cruel task master. I actually had a half decent childhood. I was raised and taught at the orphanage, but at the age of thirteen I grew very restless, so I packed what few belongings I had and struck out on my own. I didn't do well for the first few weeks. Most of everything I brought with me when I left was stolen, except those things that I held dear and I fought with my life to keep those things. I have to hand it to my Vulcan side, those Vulcans are pretty darn tough. Also I hadn't had proper Vulcan emotion training so I was a little, how should I put it, eccentric should do. I started many fights and I just couldn't keep my emotions in check many a time and that's what got me into trouble mostly.
So after about a month living on the streets on a planet that I still don't remember the name of, I met up with a cargo vessels captain and owner. Well, met up isn't the best way to put it. Cut his purse would be a better wording of what happened. As I bolted from the man, he gave chase and, surprisingly, he caught me. He brought me back to the cantina where he was at when I commited the crime, and he bought me a drink. Let alone the not being beaten was a huge surprise, him buyin me a drink was even more of a shock. He asked me all kinds of questions. What my name was, where I was from, how I ended up on the streets, what my heritage was. I told him all that I knew, and as little boys do, I made up a lot of things I said also. After we had our drinks and "man to man" talk he cut me a deal. For trying to steal his purse he was going to take me under his wing and teach me the cargo business. He also told me that I was to work for my passage from where we were to a planet called Vulcan.
I'd heard stories about my Vulcan heritage and their home planet, but no one had ever offered to take me there, so I eagerly agreed. I worked mostly sorting tools, and inventory, and keeping track of what shipments we recieved, wich ones we dropped off, and all the finances. It wasn't just me and the Ol' Cap'n. He had his son, and one of his old friends from way back when they were kids together helping him out. I didn't, and I still don't, know why he took me in and taught me the shipping business, and he and his crew taugh me all I know about engineering, piloting, programing, and electronics building.
When we finally arrived at Vulcan, I was a decent pilot, and I derrived a love for piloting, and I still love it, he left me in the care of Vulcan teachers to teach me about their ways of life, and their emotional controlling techniques. I stayed with the school for a short time. I was fourteen by the time I arrived upon Vulcan, and I learned as much as I could handle. All that meditation, mind melding, actually I'm not that bad at doing the mind melds, it's just that I can't control my emotions enough to do it properly, and all the other Vulcan mysticism wasn't, and still isn't, for me. So I packed up my belongings again, sent out a message to my Cap'n and waited for him to pick me up.
A few days later I recieved a transmission saying that my old Cap'n, he told all of us to call him Cap'n, reminded him of the old days he always said, well the transmission told me that my old Cap'n and his crew, and ship were destroyed in a pirate raid. I went on a frenzy for almost an entire year. It took four adult Vulcans to stop me and hold me down that same day I recieved the message. After that I just went on a spree of revenge. I gathered as much information on the pirates that I could, and after I had all that I could get I started to look for someone that would help me with my plans. That's when I ran into Klingons.
I heard about these fearless warriors all over the city that I was staying in, so I decided to go and investigate myself. I met with the Klingon Captain of the ship that was docked in the city, and I laid my plan down infront of him. He asked how I was going to pay, and I said after we've killed every last pirate, you can have anything you find or want. Apparently it wasn't good enough because he threw my padd with the information back into my face. I jumped up and called him a few not nice names, and I was attacked by about three or four of his crew. I fended off all the killing blows, wich I think is the reason why they finally agreed to helping me. That and I think the fact that I started to beat the crap out of all of his crew in the bar had to do something with it. Don't ask me how I did it, I just did somehow.
So with my Klingon crew in tow, and oh yeah, in that bar fight that's where I recieved my first D'k tagh and what I call, my "honour scar". So we spent the rest of that year hunting down the pirates that had killed my family pretty much. Since the Cap'n and crew were the closest things I had to family. We went from battle to bloody battle. It was pretty gruesome. If we didn't board them and kill everyone of them by hand we just blew the ship to pieces. We also suffered casualties, and by the end of it our ship was pretty much toast but at least if brought us that far.
From there I seperated from the Klingons, since my goal was completed, and I still felt depressed and disgusted at what I had done, but I had to teach those bastards a lesson. I don't remember much after that, except that I ran into a not so nice race of alien species and they put me to work in some sort of mine, and wiped my sense of individuality and freedom. That's where my limited Vulcan training came in I think, because without it I probably wouldn't have been able to remember all that I do, and had enough sense to escape. And escape I did. I found somethings that looked familiar to me and so I took them, killed a few of the aliens as I left and stole one of thier shuttles. I didn't get to far before they pretty much disabled my shuttle, but I surprisingly got away somehow, and I ended up in what I didn't know as Federation Space. As I was being attacked by my former captors again, a Federation Starship came and saved my helpless ass. The pulled me into their shuttle bay, and well, I was kindda integrated into their civilian crew for a while, until I became a citizen of the Federation, and I joind Starfleet Acadamy.
At the Acadamy, I excelled at piloting, and mechanics. I wasn't that good at quantum physics, but then again, I'm not a stong math student. A number of Vulcans tried to make me their protege, and teach me the Vulcan ways, but I politely told them pretty much to shove it. I also graduated highest in my class in martial arts, hand to hand combat, and ranged combat. I finally graduated from the Acadamy, recieved my first commission on a science vessel and I got really bored of that. I stuck through it though, wich was what saved me in the long run. Just stickin' through my term with what Starfleet told me to do. I eventually rasied in rank to Commander, mostly through acts of bravery and selflessly endangering my life, and through military feats of many kinds. And so, with the rank of Commander, I could have been placed almost anywhere I wanted, but I heard about this fine vessel, and I inquired about it, and Starfleet informed me that there was a position open for Second Officer, and listed all the open positions that I may have to fill. So I agreed, and I haven't regretted my decision yet. So, that is my story for any of you who haven't heard it yet, and have hacked into my personal Logs, but that's ok, I keep all my other log enteries encrypted with my own encryption of my own design. Unless you have the basic concept of how it was made, you stand a 0% chance of actually cracking it. But well it's 0303 hours right now, and all this talking is making me thirsty, and I'm finally getting tired, so I think I shall be finally going to sleep. Computer, end recording.

I've just completed one of the training missions created for the crew. It wasn't that bad. I still prefer the Klingon training though, the Bat'leth, or my personal favourite, the D'k tagh. I love the design of that knife. I have my own, had to fight a drunken Klingon for it also, have the scar on my right shoulder blade from it still. I never let the Doc's heal it over. It's an honour scar, can't get rid of those. It's odd I find it. One of my past and background somewhat following the Klingon ways of life. Well, not life, just a bit of their honour system and rules of combat. I still don't like the Federation phasers. Don't think I ever will. I've used a Klingon disruptor for years, and that's what I'm comfortable with. Ah well. Commander Ashby (not sure if he's going to change his name or no) and I were going to go into the Klingon training program and go head to head with the Bat'leths when the ship was put on red alert. Proved to be that ourChief Engineer, the one I suggested of course, accidentally started a meltdown in the slipstream drive. With that crisis narrowly averted we, the command staff, excluding the Chief Engineer of course, have concluded that we will keep the EEH (Emergency Engineering Hologram) online and operational 24/7 for as long as it takes for our Chief Engineer to get used to the new systems. I find it hard to be a Commander and yet to be Second Officer, but that's the job I opted for. That was in the agreement. A new experimental ship, and I had all the qualifications for three positions on there, and I went for it. Thought it might give my career in Starfleet a boost, but I don't know anymore. I'm liking my position, even though I'm third in command, it doesn't matter. I pilot the ship, control & monitor ships communications and am in charge of Operations. It's a bit challenging sometimes, but that's what I need. Well, it's now 0046 hours so I should call it a day and get some sleep. I'm off tomorrow, well, as far as I know, so I don't have sleep right yet, but hey. Computer, end recording.
